1. Service
Portuguese Tune provides online one-on-one European Portuguese language sessions. By creating an account and purchasing sessions you agree to these terms.
2. Account and address
To book a session you must create an account and provide a valid address. Your address is required for invoicing under Portuguese tax law. If you live in Portugal, the cost of our services is eligible for an IRS deduction under Education Expenses. For this purpose we may request your NIF (Número de Identificação Fiscal).
3. Bookings and credits
Session credits are purchased via Stripe and added to your account on payment confirmation.
Credits have no expiry date.
Available slots are first-come-first-served. We cannot guarantee availability of specific times.
If a slot becomes unavailable after payment, your credit will be returned to your account for use on another slot.
4. Right of withdrawal (EU)
Under EU consumer law you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. However, by booking a session and selecting a time slot, you expressly consent to the service being performed before the withdrawal period ends. Once a session has been delivered, the right of withdrawal no longer applies. For unused credits, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting hello@portuguesetune.com.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Sessions cancelled by the trainer will be credited back to your account.
Student cancellations made 48+ hours before the session will be credited back. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
If a student is more than 10 minutes late, the lesson is considered a no-show, it is cancelled, and the lesson fee is non-refundable.
Refund requests for unused credits can be made within 30 days of purchase.
6. Conduct
Sessions are for language learning purposes. Disruptive or inappropriate conduct may result in account termination without refund.
7. Privacy
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the service you acknowledge that you have read and understood our data practices.
8. Liability
Portuguese Tune is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
